This time last year, many of us were in the process of forming a set of new year resolutions that were going to turn our lives around and help us to accomplish something spectacular with our lives. Sadly, around this time eleven months ago, the vast majority of those ambitious ‘ressies’ had already been broken. In actual fact, many resolutions last little more than a couple of hours on new year’s day, with only a few making it past the first week – never mind past the first month.

Christmas comes but once a year, and frankly, I speak for plenty of us out there when I say thank heavens it does. Imagine if we had to suffer more than one Christmas a year? We would constantly be running around, frantically trying to find the best deals on perfect gifts; planning huge meals for extended families; requiring two trolleys in the supermarket when we go shopping; partying way too much; feeling full and bloated from all the food and drink; and being bombarded with adverts and offers from retailers desperate to get our attention.

We were just about to sit down and write our Christmas cards when we realised that actually, most of the people we deal with on a daily basis are online and it will be much easier, greener, more cost effective and better for the recipient if we send our cards electronically this year. This got us thinking – how many other people have abandoned their usual tradition of sending Christmas cards in favour of sending their greetings online via social media platforms and e-cards.
