16 Things You Didn

We all know that making sure you get enough sleep each night is very important when it comes to your health and well-being but this infographic by Ellie Koning offers 16 interesting facts that you might not be aware of. It seems that the amount of sleep that you need varies depending upon your age and this may go some way to explaining why teenagers are always in bed. Apparently 13 to 18 year olds need an average of 10 hours sleep per night, 2 hours more than 19 to 55 year olds.

Other interesting facts worth noting are that 12% of people only ever dream in black and white and koala bears sleep for an astonishing 22 hours a day, even teenagers more than teenagers. Giraffes on the other hand only need a total of 1.9 hours per day and they get it in short 5 to 10 minute sessions which are spread out.

The infographic also helps you to determine your personality by your preferred sleeping position. Most people seems to choose the fetal position which apparently makes them gruff initially but they have warm and open hearts. Those who sleep in the log position are social butterflies and those who choose the free fall position are seen as being fun and fantastic at parties.

Of course, getting the perfect night’s sleep is not always as easy as it should be and making sure that you have a comfy bed is a good place to start.
