Having a fresh cup of coffee in the morning (and a few after that) is all well and good, but you are always left with a scoop of used coffee grounds, which are greasy and hard to get rid of. But did you know that used coffee grounds have a wide range of viable uses? Here are just a few:

Get Rid of Bad Smells

Whether you want to make your fridge smell fresh and clean again, or you have spent the entire day in the kitchen and your hands have the smell to show for it, you can quickly remedy the situation with used coffee grounds. Just put them in some kind of dish in the fridge, or rub them all over your hands. Voila – bad smells be gone!

Make the Creepy Crawlies Go Away

Ants and snails are a common problem in many homes, but used coffee grounds can quickly take care of the situation. Sprinkle some of the used grounds around the points of entry or just in the places where you want no crawlies to appear ever. It’s so cheap and so easy!

Nourish Your Plants

Whether you have a big garden or just a few pots at home, you are probably familiar with the different types of soil that your plans love. For the species that prefer soil with a slightly acidic quality, used coffee grounds are the most delicious treat ever as they are acidic. So just sprinkle some around the plant and enjoy the results.

Clean Your Whole Kitchen

You probably have a few bottles of abrasive cleaning solution in your cupboards, right? Well forget all about those – used coffee grounds are abrasive too and have absolutely the same cleaning effect, only without asking you to spend any money!

Put an End to Your Cellulite Problems

As weird as it may sound, some people swear it works and to be fair, anti-cellulite creams are way too expensive anyway. This recipe is definitely worth a try. Just take your used coffee grounds and mix them with an egg white or a bit of olive oil (whichever one you have available) until you get a somewhat smooth paste. Then apply it to the areas that are bothering you and wrap them tight with shrink wrap. After a few minutes, go take a shower and that’s it.

Use as an Exfoliant

Again due to the abrasive quality of used coffee grounds, you can also use them instead of an expensive exfoliant. Plus, one can only hope that they will not only remove old and dry skin, but also use their stimulating properties to rejuvenate and freshen up your face.

A Tightening Homemade Face Mask

You probably spend quite a lot on expensive face masks and wish you had the money for a facelift. But worry not – you don’t need that kind of money. All you have to do is remember not to throw your coffee grounds away after you’ve had your morning cup. Just mix the grounds with an egg white and apply the paste to your face. When it dries off, rub it away and rinse.
