The Italian capital is steeped in history and offers plenty of sights and cafes. The airport's latest announcement adds a new route to Milan, the capital of Italy. This new route will be operated by Blue Air and will bring Liverpool's passengers to the Italian capital.
The airport's runway was designated 09/27 when it opened in 1966. The airport also features a full-length parallel taxiway with two high-speed turn-offs. The runway is orientated roughly east-west, minimizing the possibility of runway closures due to strong crosswinds. Although the majority of flights from Liverpool operate westerly, the runway designation is based on the compass bearing to magnetic north.
