WeareSpruce.co is a new, eco-friendly cleaning brand founded by Mahira Khalid. Mahira suffered from unexplained infertility, miscarriages, and an IVF journey that took her over a decade to complete. In the process, she became committed to living a low-waste lifestyle and wanted to use environmentally friendly cleaning products. Despite her efforts, finding an eco-friendly cleaning product was a challenge. Hence, Spruce was born.
Spruce has a low-waste approach to packaging and shipping, and leaves a minimal carbon footprint. The refill packs are made from plant-based bioplastics, and once finished, you can throw them in your compost bin or food waste. They decompose within 14 weeks, whereas plastic bottles can last as long as 500 years in the ecosystem. It has also been found that microplastics, found in many plastic products, can cause a host of health problems.
