Store's Description
The Tigers are back in the knockout stages of the competition after winning the Anglo-Welsh Cup for the third time in succession. Despite conceding an early try, the players kept calm and came back to score the winning try. The hard work of the senior players paid off, as did the squad depth that enabled the Tigers to compete on three fronts. Here's what you need to know about the Tigers' website.
The Leicester Tigers have a rich history. From the Midlands Counties Cup in 1898 to the Premiership in 1988, they have won numerous cups. Their record of success has been impressive, and they've made the finals in nine of the past ten seasons. The Tigers have never finished below sixth place in the league, making them one of only four English teams not to be relegated.
In the 1970s, the club was in a much more modest phase, with only six or seven hundred members. In the first season, the club played for less than a thousand people. They reached their first cup final in 1980, and went on to win the league title four years later. In the summer of 2006, the club brought in some promising forwards, including Jordan Crane from Leeds Tykes. Crane had a good reputation after representing the U21 World Cup.
The Tigers are officially known as Leicester Football Club, but they've been known as the Tigers since 1885. The team has been based at Welford Road, the largest club rugby stadium in England, since 1892. So, if you're a fan of the Tigers, you can find everything you need about the club by visiting leicestertigers.com. With so much history behind them, it's easy to see why they've managed to achieve such a good status.
